"Key Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Instructional Strategies"

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

As the rapidly growing demands of a global economy become apparent, communities are turning to the promises of language programs, to meet the academic rigor, language proficiency growth and intercultural competencies needed to prepare a competitive 21^st Century global workforce.

This session will address the foundational pedagogical pieces used in many Dual Language Immersion and bilingual programs to ensure high quality, and sustainability of target language strategies.  Examples from different Dual Language Immersion programs will be used to illustrate these core instructional strategies and foundational pillars.  Through guided analysis and group discussions, participants will be able to identify the replicability of these instructional strategies and infrastructures of support in their diverse contexts.
