Developing and Assessing Student Proficiency through

Standard-based Integrated Performance Assessments

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

In this workshop participants will (re)familiarize themselves with ACTFL’s and Arizona’s Proficiency standards along with the World Readiness Standards before designing their own standard-based Integrated Performance Assessments (IPA). Traditionally, IPAs are used to assess students’ proficiency in all three modes of communication - interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational - at the end of a unit. Participants will have a beginning draft of an IPA to use in their classroom or course.
